Course Description

This course will enhance students’ knowledge of the Hindi language and culture of India. The overall goal is to develop functional communicative abilities in students to express basic communication needs with confidence. The skills of reading and writing, in Hindi will be attained by students being exposed to rich authentic linguistic and cultural teaching contexts that emphasize students developing competency in Hindi language and culture. Students learn to communicate, comprehend, and present, in oral and written form, on a variety of very familiar and predictable topics using isolated words, learned the phrase, and learned grammatical structures in the context of Cultures, Connections, and Comparisons.

Theme
The child should able to do basic a conversation about themselves, their family, friends, hobbies, daily routine and India travels etc.

Students Can:
Understand oral and/or written statements.
Read and/or listen to short reading selections or oral narratives from Hindi-speaking cultures.
Understand information from simple Hindi language materials.
Prepare and present short announcements.
Prepare and present brief reports or original materials.
Dramatize short reading selections.
